If you have been listening to the media's report of home sales you might think that we are going backward and that sales of homes have come to a screeching halt. Just the opposite is true.

According to the National Association of Realtors, on average there are 12,575 homes sold everyday in this country. Annualized sales are now at 4.59 million. If we divide this number by 365 days in a year, the average is 12,575 homes.

Every state, county, city, or neighborhood is a market unto themselves. While the media generalizes about home sales, the San Ramon Valley is in high demand. The area I am referring to includes Walnut Creek, Diablo, Alamo, Blackhawk, San Ramon, Danville, Dublin and Pleasanton. Homes are in demand in these areas.

If you are considering whether or not to put your house up for sale, don't let the headlines scare you. There are purchasers in the market and they are buying. With the average days on the market of only 23, demand is still high.
