The state with the highest foreclosure rate is Nevada, followed by California. A recent article in Realtor Magazine ranked the top 10 States with the highest  number of foreclosures.

The number of households listed below signify that 1 out of that number of  households received a foreclosure filing in February.

1. Nevada – 278 households,

2. California – 283 households

3. Arizona:  312 households

4. Georgia:  331 households

5. Florida:  341 households

6. Illinois:  398 households

7. Michigan:  433 households

8. South Carolina:  489 households

9. Ohio:  543 households

10. Wisconsin:  596 households

Of special note is the decrease in Florida foreclosure filings way under the numbers reported a while back.
