San Francisco Farmers MarketThe San Francisco Farmer’s market is an outing or should I say event. You can easily spend hours at the market, because you may not be there to just buy fruits and vegetables. If you are like me, I can easily spend a couple of hours at the San Francisco Farmers market on any given Saturday morning.

There’s the farmer’s goods of course, then there is the other stuff. Local restaurants with portable kitchens set up to feed all of us either breakfast or lunch depending when you arrive. Then there is the table of friends that meet there every week to catch up, share and enjoy the City. People watching – oh my goodness – yes there is so much to see and I always feel like I might be missing something.

Moms pushing the strollers, young couples holding hands in a world of their own, grandparents in for the weekend – my stories go on and on. Then there is the entertainment – never know who will show up – musicians, mimes, jugglers, clowns, dancers and other types of creative entertainment.

When you finish eating, shopping and gazing outside, wander in to the Ferry Building where there more specialty shops showcasing cheeses, high quality meats, wines, chocolates, and yes ACME breads (the best).

The drive from San Ramon/Danville to the Farmers Market is approximately 35 minutes with no traffic or take the bart. We generally drive so that we can put our purchases in the car and then do more walking in the City. San Francisco so pretty – so lively and no matter how often we go to the San Francisco – we always spot something new.

Foggy Day – so what – that is what makes this City so unique.
